Archive of Vintage Glass Negative

One of the latest large jobs completed by the commercial removals team at Kitson’s Transport was classed as a high importance job dealing with a nationally recognised archive of historical negatives dating all the way back to 1860! As the job contained such fragile and irreplaceable items the team at Kitson’s further modified the van to make sure that the removal was completed to the highest standard. There was also additional heavy items such a safe which were required to be transported prompting the used of a forklift truck for easily and safely moving the safe from the property to the van.

The archives were taken all the way from Manchester to Kent and delivered in exactly the same condition as they left which prompted the customer to leave us positive feedback regarding the job!

“We needed to move an archive of 36,000 historical photographic negatives, the bulk of which were delicate glass plate negatives from Manchester to Kent. This archive, which covers the time period between the 1860s through to the 1990s is of national importance, and irreplaceable. Ivor Kitson visited us twice to assess the move and recommended that their vehicle be specially fitted out inside to best accommodate the archive. This we agreed to and the archive was eventually moved without any problems arising. If you have delicate or valuable items to move I’d strongly recommend this company.”
